Day 1 - Wednesday 2/20/2008: E-Week Kickoff
Engineering Activities Faire
Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: East Quad
All engineering student organizations will be tabling at the Quad. The displays will include student projects and fun activities related to engineering.
Engineering Hot Topic 1! – Stem Cell Research Informational Workshop
Dr. Kent Leach, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Time: 4:30 pm – 5:10 pm
Location: Kemper Hall 1003
Appropriate for all class-level engineers as well as non-engineers.
Day 2 - Thursday 2/21/2008: Activities, Tournaments & Outreach
Middle School Activities Faire
Visiting middle schools include: Douglass Middle School of Woodland and C.A. Jacobs Middle School of Dixon.
Time: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
Location: Bainer Hall Courtyard and Kemper Hall Lobby
Engineering student organizations lead activities including: liquid nitrogen ice cream by AIChE; pie-eating contest by Tau Beta Pi; toothpick and gum bridges by SWE; concrete canoe, steel bridge, and Aerobrick displays; Laser Maze display (Kemper 1127).
Engineering Hot Topic 2! – Sustainability Informational Workshop

Time: 3:10 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Engineering III, 2nd floor conference room
Appropriate for all class-level engineers as well as non-engineers.
Engineering Hot Topic 3! – Nanotechnology Informational Workshop
Dr. Cristina Davis, Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering
Time: 5:10 pm – 6:00 pm
Location: Kemper Hall 1127
Appropriate for all class-level engineers as well as non-engineers.
Video Game Tournament (PASE)
Time: 6:00 pm registration starts
Location: Wellman Hall 201
Game: Halo 3 (BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER)
Free Entry
Prizes: 1st - $50 GameShop gift certificate; 2nd, 3rd and 4th - E-Week T-shirts
To guarantee your spot in the Halo 3 tournament, sign up with PASE at the MU tables or at the E-Week Activities Faire between 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Space is limited! If you sign up at the door, there is no guarantee you will get a spot!
Day 3 - Friday 2/22/2008: Panel, Tours and Outreach
Grill-A-Senior
Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Young Hall 194
A panel of current UC Davis engineering students will answer questions from visiting high school students and new undergraduate students.
Lab and Facility Tours
Location: Check in at Kemper Hall 1065 at 10 minutes before each start time. There are 2 separate tours per each time slot.
Tours organized primarily for visiting high school students, but open to all.
First Time Slot: 11:15 am-12pm
Tour 1A: Bainer Hall Facility & Student Projects
Tour 1B: Nanotechnology Lab
Second Time Slot: 12:10 am-1pm
Tour 2A: Bainer Hall Facility & Student Projects
Tour 2B: Genome and Biomedical Sciences Facility
Visiting high schools include: Rio Linda High School of Rio Linda and Dixon High School of Dixon.
LAN Party (IEEE/CS Club)
Time: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (yes, that’s all night!)
Location: Kemper Hall 1127/1131
All are invited – bring your own computer and put your game face on!
Free food and drinks will be provided throughout the night.
RSVP to IEEE Officers by Thursday 2/21/2008.
Day 4 – 2/23/2008: Scavenger Hunt Fun!
Scavenger Hunt (IEEE)
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Start in Kemper Lobby and end in Oxford Circle Park (in Davis)
Prizes: 1st - $150 Fry’s gift certificate, 2nd - $100 Fry’s gift certificate
Teams of 2-5 members each will have 3 hours to scavenge a list of items throughout Davis (car helpful but not required).
Free food and drinks provided for all participants at the end.
Free and open to everyone, but MUST RSVP to IEEE Officers when you check in with your team name and names of team members.
